Adform integration setup

Like many of you, we think Adform is a great ad tech vendor. That's why we teamed up to build a neat integration between our systems. The result is less boring work and more time to do fun stuff - like playing mini golf. Once set up, you simply create your Adform campaign and choose to track it with AudienceReport - tracking pixels are then magically applied to each placement and a corresponding project is created inside AudienceReport. Voilà!

In three simple steps we will guide you through how to enable the Adform integration. But first of all, check that you have an account at both Adform and AudienceReport.

  • Get ready for the API integration

Reach out to your contact at Adform - Ask them to provide you with:

  1. A login (username and password) with external API access to integrate with Adform’s API that meet the API requirements
  2. Access to the Adform - AudienceReport Measurement App, also known as the AudienceReport / Epinion App

If you have admin rights to the Adform system, you can also get access to the API integration by doing the following:

  1. Go to “User Management” under “Account settings” in the Adform system
  2. Go to “Module Access”
  3. Tick off the box “RTB Setup” under “Real Time Bidding”
  4. Tick off the box “External API” under “Additional services”

Read more about User Management rights in Adform’s Help Center.

It is important to be aware that the user linked to the two systems should not be a personal log in, linked to a person, but a generic system log in. If the credential activated is person linked it will cause failure when ever the person update password or user management rights. Therefor we recommend you simply create an user for "AudienceReport credential" and ensure it has all the needed rights in the Adform user management settings.

  • Login to AudienceReport

When Adform has helped you with this, you’re ready to enter the Adform API credentials in the AudienceReport interface and switch it on. You do this by entering your account in AudienceReport and choose “Settings” in the top right corner.

Afterwards you click the “Activate” button under the “Integrations” menu and enter the username and password you received from Adform. This is necessary in order to couple the AudienceReport projects automatically with the campaigns tracked in Adform.

You only need to finish this step once for each account in AudienceReport, before you’re using the Adform - AudienceReport / Epinion App.

If you enter the “Integrations” menu and see that the integration has been added already, you shouldn’t re-enter the Adform API credentials. This is how it looks if the Adform API credentials have been added already to an AudienceReport account.

  • Track your Adform campaigns using the AudienceReport / Epinion App

Now you’re ready to track your Adform campaigns with AudienceReport. Go to “Apps” under “System settings” in the Adform system and open the AudienceReport / Epinion App. Please be aware that you need to use your Adform login to use this link.

Click “Add tracking” and choose an existing Adform campaign. Remember that the chosen campaign must contain placements before tracking pixels can be applied. Add your campaign country and AudienceReport prefix in the CID and remember to check that the “Enable” button is on.

The prefix is the three letters in your tracking pixel that appear in front of the unique code in the end. In this case, it's USR. The prefix is unique for your AudienceReport company account. You can find your company's CID in the top right hand corner of the AudienceReport interface (in the parentheses next to your company name).

Now the App setup has taken care of adding the campaign to both system. Happy campaigning!

After integrating your project, we recommend, that you do the following checks to make sure that everything is implemented correctly.

First, after using the API in Adform, go to your AudienceReport account, and check if the project has been created through the API, and if all the placements you want, has been created as tracking pixels.

Second, when the campaign is starting, go the project in AudienceReport, to check if the tracking pixel are catching traffic.
